100 OUTSHOPPED

Here are a couple of shots of our latest completed model.

It is a 7mm scale model of the original FR Observation Carr 100. It was scratchbuilt in styrene, painted by hand and finished with a spray coat of matt varnish. The transfers are supplied by EDM models (the FR crests) and Fox Transfers.

FAQ

Q: Do you only make models out of styene?

A: Yes. I've yet to find a carriage or wagon I haven't been able to build.

Q: How much do your models cost?

A: It all depends. Every model is unique. I charge clients a very reasonable hourly rate plus cost of materials used to make their model. If you want a simple model with less detailing it will cost less than a more complicated prototype with more finescale detailing included.

Q: So how will I know what it will cost?

A: This is discussed with clients before they commission a model. If it's a repeat of a design I've made before I will be able to give you a clear idea of the likely final cost. I keep clients updated about the progress of their model and the running total of charges.

Q: What if I want to cancel halfway through?

A: That's no problem. You pay me for the work done up to that point and I will despatch the model in the state it has reached.

Q: Do you make locomotives?

A: I don't make chassis or mechanisms but I have successfully built diesel locomotives to fit on an N gauge chassis.
